The Shiveluch volcano in Kamchatka spewed a column of ash to an altitude of about 6 km above sea level. This was announced on February 2 by the Kamchatka branch of the Federal Research Center of the Unified Geophysical Service (USGS) of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS).

"According to seismic data, the height of the ash release was about 6 thousand meters above sea level," the Telegram channel said.

Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (IViS) On February 1, the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences reported that Shiveluch had thrown out a column of ash 6 km above sea level. It was clarified that the ash plume spread to 70 km from the volcano. An "orange" aviation hazard code has been announced, indicating a ban on flights in the volcano area.
