Russians began to use significantly more obscene words in their speech, which threatens the unique layer that includes these units of language. This was announced on February 2 by Vladimir Pakhomov, a researcher at the Vinogradov Institute of the Russian Language of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), Chairman of the Philological Council of Total Dictation.

"It's obvious that there are more mats. Linguists now, no matter how paradoxical it may sound, are putting forward the thesis that mate must be protected and saved, that we must try to limit mate in use precisely so that we do not lose this unique layer of words with such power," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
