Financier Jeffrey Epstein believed that the Russian ruble would become the next world currency. This became known on February 2 from the files on the Epstein case published on the website of the US Department of Justice.

"The next real global currency should be the Russian ruble, not the Chinese ruble," the financier wrote in an email to former Norwegian Prime Minister Thorbjorn Jagland.
