Mobile firing groups of the 22nd Anti-aircraft Missile Regiment of the 11th Army Corps, stationed on the territory of the Belgorod border region, detect and shoot down a total of up to 50 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) on a daily basis The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), which are launched by militants mainly at night. Soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces told Izvestia correspondent Alexei Poltoranin about this on February 2.

"The mobile group works at any time of the day, most often at night, when the enemy is active, it launches attack and aircraft—type drones," Poltoranin said.

The commander of the mobile firing group with the call sign Thirteen noted that the tactics of using UAVs are constantly changing, but the crews are on duty around the clock.

"We always try to destroy it in the air, thereby hitting it (the drone. — Ed.) specifically to the combat unit. It bursts in the sky, and it's much, let's say, more spectacular, and it's more pleasant for us to work like this," he said.

The deputy platoon commander with the call sign Jaeger added that the soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces are working with each of their devices: they set up communications, equip it with the ability to record video and equip the combat unit.

"Every "bird" (that's what military personnel call drones. — Ed.) is prepared individually. The engineers are sitting and preparing," he said.

The huntsman illustrated to the Izvestia correspondent a D-11 UAV, which is equipped with digital video communication, with standard ammunition. He explained that the sample has striking fragments that fly off during a collision, which makes it possible to eliminate it when an enemy UAV is detected.

On January 22, the operators of the Russian Armed Forces' Molniya UAVS reported on the results of their combat missions on the territory of the Donetsk People's Republic. An engineer calculating a UAV with the call sign Kuzbass, speaking with Izvestia correspondent Valentin Trushnin, clarified that the drone, despite its appearance, is one of the deadliest weapons. He added that the "Lightning" will eliminate the strongholds and guns of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the area of the special military operation.
