On February 1, international security expert Mark Episkopos criticized the statement by the head of the European diplomacy, Kai Kallas, about negotiations with Russia.

In his opinion, the words of Callas, said at a press conference of the European External Action Service that there are no grounds for resuming the dialogue between Europe and the Russian Federation, are incorrect.

"This is wrong and erroneous for several reasons. From a European point of view, there are much more grounds for negotiations with Russia than for immediate peace talks on Ukraine," he wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on January 25 that Russia would never discuss any issues with the head of the European diplomacy. He added that the Russian side can only wait for her to leave her post. Peskov also criticized the leadership of the European Union, saying that there are no political visionaries in it, but only illiterate and incompetent functionaries who are unable to look to the future.
