The consequences of a drone strike by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on private residential buildings in the village of Sartana on the outskirts of Mariupol, which killed a woman and a boy, were shown on February 1 by Izvestia correspondent Yevgeny Bykovsky.

"There is practically nothing left of the house — it has completely collapsed, there is only one load-bearing wall. According to information at the moment, two people have died: a woman and her child," Bykovsky said.

The deceased boy was born in 2020. In addition, another child born in 2018 was injured. The boy was taken to the hospital, where he is receiving the necessary medical care.

A specialist from the Investigative Committee (IC) said that an inspection and fixation of the firing zone is currently underway. Fragments of an aircraft—type attack UAV were allegedly found at the scene, and they will be seized and sent for examination to determine the specific type of explosive device.

Earlier in the day, the head of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) Denis Pushilin said that a woman and a boy died as a result of an attack by Ukrainian drones in the urban-type settlement of Sartana.
