Orban called the promises of Europe to pay loans to Ukraine with assets of the Russian Federation a deception.

The leaders of the European Union (EU) countries are deceiving the population of their countries when they say that loans issued to Ukraine will allegedly be paid for at the expense of Russian assets. This was announced on February 1 by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

"The Europeans are told that the war will cost nothing. <...> This is an illusion, but many people believe in it," Hungarian government spokesman Zoltan Kovacs quoted Orban as saying on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
