What will change in the lives of Russians from February 1
Over 40 types of social benefits, compensations and payments will be indexed by 5.6%, adjusted for inflation over the past year. In particular, the amount of maternity capital will increase and the conditions for obtaining a family mortgage will change.
At the birth of the first child, the maternity capital will amount to 728.9 thousand rubles, at the appearance of the second — an additional 234.3 thousand rubles. For families who have not previously received payments for their first child, the total amount of state support for the birth of their second child will reach 963.2 thousand rubles.
Also, starting from February 1, the conditions for granting a family mortgage at a rate of 6% will change: a preferential loan will be available only once per family. For its registration, the spouses need to act as co-borrowers. Re-obtaining a family mortgage is possible only after full repayment of the previous loan or at the birth of another child.
The indexation will also affect lump-sum benefits for the birth of a child, payments for child care up to one and a half years for unemployed parents, pension supplements, payments to veterans and the disabled, as well as unemployment benefits.
In addition, consumer protection measures will be expanded. According to Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the State Duma, when returning low-quality technically complex goods, buyers will be able to claim compensation for the difference between the amount paid and the actual value of a similar product at the time of the dispute.
Natalia Shipilova, Sales Director of the Belye Peski residential complex, told Izvestia on January 28 that the Family Mortgage program was becoming more targeted and losing its versatility as a tool for solving several housing problems at once.
