In Russia, the rules for the return of equipment have changed since February 1.

New rules for the return of equipment came into force in Russia on February 1. The relevant information follows from the law "On Consumer Rights Protection".

Now, when returning a technically complex product, the buyer can claim compensation for the difference between the price of the product he paid and the price of the same item with the same level of wear and the year of manufacture. The list of such products includes not only gadgets, but also cars, motorcycles, and ships.

In addition, it clarifies that the manufacturer will not be fined if the violation is related to the actions of the buyer or counterparty, and an agreement has been concluded between the parties. As noted by "Gazeta.Ru", the new rules establish that the amount of the penalty for delayed return or replacement cannot exceed the cost of the equipment.

On January 26, Alexander Khaminsky, a lawyer and head of the Center for Law Enforcement in Moscow and the Moscow Region, announced that from February 1, new rules for the return of substandard technically complex goods would be established. This measure will protect buyers from a situation where, due to inflation or rising prices, they receive back only the amount they paid, but could not purchase a similar product due to changes in value.
