59 cars collided on California Highway 99
In the US state of California, 59 cars collided on Highway 99. This was announced on February 1 by the state Highway Patrol.
"A patrol is at the scene of a 59-car collision on Highway 99. The road is blocked in both directions," the patrol said on the Facebook page (owned by Meta, recognized as extremist in Russia).
It turns out that there are several victims who received minor and moderate injuries. According to the local ABC TV channel, ten people were hospitalized.
The TV channel also noted that the accident could have occurred due to poor visibility caused by dense fog.
Earlier in the United States, 100 cars collided on the I–196 highway near Hudsonville, Michigan, on January 19 due to heavy snowfall. It is noted that there are no fatalities. The number of victims varies from 9 to 12, there is no exact data.
