On January 31, US President Donald Trump announced that negotiations on Greenland had already begun and expressed hope for a "good deal" for both the American side and Europe.

"I have started negotiations. I think they are pretty well coordinated," the head of the White House told reporters who gathered aboard his presidential liner.
