Thousands of people took part in the FREXIT march for France's exit from the EU
Thousands of French people took to the streets of their country to participate in a rally called FREXIT on the country's withdrawal from the European Union (EU). This was announced on January 31 by the leader of the French Patriots party, Florian Philippot.
"What a powerful force the grand National March for Frexit represented today!" he wrote on his page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
According to the politician, the demonstrators, expressing their dissatisfaction with the activities of the French authorities, shouted the slogan — "Macron, Ursula and Zelensky, return the money!" — which was addressed to French President Emmanuel Macron, head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky.
Marching in one large formation, the protesters carried the national flags of their country in their hands. In front of the march, a large banner was unfurled, which was held by people who came to the event in clothes with elements of the national symbols of France.
The Politico newspaper reported on January 26 that 79% of French respondents believe that their state is moving in the wrong direction. The corresponding indicator was revealed as a result of a large-scale survey, the compilers of which wanted to identify the percentage of people satisfied with the state of democracy in European countries. The result demonstrated that the majority of people living in the EU broadcast deeply pessimistic sentiments.
