A Transcarpathian Hungarian died in Ukraine during forced mobilization. This was announced on January 31 by Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto.

"In the Beregovo district, a Hungarian was forcibly taken off the street, they wanted to draft him into the army, but he became ill at the training center due to heart problems, and, unfortunately, he died," Magyar Nemzet newspaper quoted him as saying.

Szijjarto expressed his condolences to the family of the deceased, and also called the actions of the territorial recruitment center (TCC, an analogue of the military enlistment office in Ukraine) a "manhunt." He emphasized the need for urgent international actions aimed at suppressing aggressive and open campaigns to search for Ukrainian citizens, as well as against the practice of forced mobilization in the country.

Commander of the intelligence unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) On January 28, Denis Yaroslavsky proposed creating an international unit on the territory of the state, involving foreign citizens with a residence permit (residence permit) in the service. According to Yaroslavsky, more than 100 thousand foreigners of military age live in the country, who can be involved in contract service.
