Due to the onset of frost, the batteries in Moscow apartments began to heat up more. This was announced on January 31 by Deputy Mayor of Tolitsa Pyotr Biryukov.

"The air temperature has dropped significantly in the capital region, and therefore the heating system has been adjusted in advance. The temperature of the main coolant in the heating networks has been increased," the Moscow City Administration quoted Biryukov as saying on the Telegram channel.

As Biryukov explained, the district heating system operates according to a flexible algorithm: technological modes are adjusted depending on the outside temperature.

Alexander Ilyin, a forecaster at the Meteo forecasting center, warned on January 30 that frosts would increase in Moscow after the end of the snowfall. According to the forecast, a return of light to moderate snow is possible on Sunday, and light precipitation is also expected at the beginning of next week.
