Iran is closely monitoring incoming intelligence data against the background of threats from the United States and is taking the necessary measures to ensure national security. This was announced on January 31 by the head of the General Staff of the Iranian Army, Amir Hatami.

"Iran is not a country that can be destroyed," CNN Turk quoted Khatami as saying.

According to Khatami, if external forces attempt an attack, it could seriously affect the security of the entire region, including US allies in the Middle East region. He noted that a number of neighboring states have already made it clear that they will not allow their territories or airspace to be used to attack Iran.

Khatami stressed that the country will resolutely defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity in the event of a threat.

On January 30, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi announced his readiness to continue negotiations with the United States on the nuclear program. He noted that he is ready to start contacts with the United States only if these negotiations are meaningful.
