- Estonia announced the creation of a common military mobility space for the Baltic States
On January 30, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania signed an agreement on the creation of a single military mobility space. The document consolidated the agreements on simplifying the movement of troops between the three states. This was announced on January 31 by the ERR broadcasting company.
"The Baltic defense ministers agreed on Friday to create a unified military mobility space that will simplify the movement of troops, strengthen the defense of NATO's eastern flank and reduce bureaucracy in crisis situations," the ERR said in a statement.
It is noted that NATO is expanding its initiatives and calls it allegedly "deterring Russian aggression."
On January 30, Reuters learned about the EU's plans to use the $500 billion fund for defense loans. Such loans may be relevant for countries with a good financial situation but limited budgets.
