A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. Units of the North group of forces defeated formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the areas of settlements in Kharkiv and Sumy regions. The enemy lost over 90 people, eight vehicles, an electronic warfare station, two ammunition and materiel depots.

The military personnel of the Zapad group of forces improved their position along the front line, and also hit enemy manpower and equipment in the areas of DNO and the Kharkiv region. The enemy's losses amounted to more than 150 soldiers, five armored combat vehicles, including two US-made M113 armored personnel carriers, 18 vehicles and an artillery piece. Four ammunition depots were destroyed.

The southern group of troops has improved the tactical situation. The Ukrainian Armed Forces units were defeated in a number of DPR settlements. Ukrainian units lost up to 130 militants, a German-made Marder infantry fighting vehicle, 13 vehicles and a field artillery piece. Two electronic warfare stations, 10 ammunition, materiel and fuel depots were destroyed.

As a result of active actions, the Center group of troops liberated the village of Toretskoye in the DPR. The enemy was also defeated in the areas of the Donetsk People's Republic and the Dnipropetrovsk region. The losses of the Ukrainian armed forces amounted to over 420 people, 13 armored combat vehicles, including three US-made M113 armored personnel carriers, 25 vehicles, an artillery piece and a counter-battery radar station.

The units of the Vostok group of forces advanced into the depth of the enemy's defenses and liberated the Petrovka settlement of the Zaporizhia region. The Armed Forces of Ukraine's manpower and equipment were hit in a number of settlements in the Zaporizhia region. The enemy lost up to 375 soldiers, 12 vehicles and a field artillery piece.

The military personnel of the Dnepr group of forces defeated the manpower and equipment of the mechanized and mountain assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the areas of the settlements of Orekhov, Novodanilovka, Pavlovka and Magdalinovka of the Zaporizhia region. Up to 40 militants, five vehicles, an electronic warfare station and two ammunition depots were destroyed.

Operational-tactical aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, missile forces and artillery of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation defeated transport infrastructure facilities used in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, ammunition depots, as well as temporary locations of Ukrainian armed forces and foreign mercenaries in 138 areas.

Four guided aerial bombs, a US-made HIMARS multiple rocket launcher and 47 aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down by air defense systems.

Closed "eyes": troops began using robots to create smoke screens

This creates problems for the enemy's FPV drones and increases the effectiveness of offensive actions.

According to the Ministry of Defense, since the beginning of the special military operation, 670 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 111681 unmanned aerial vehicles, 646 anti-aircraft missile systems, 27423 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1653 multiple rocket launchers, 32972 field artillery and mortars, 533267 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
