The crew of REN TV was attacked in Santiago

The crew of the REN TV channel was attacked during an attempted robbery with a knife in the Chilean capital Santiago during filming.

One malefactor approached Maxim Palagin, the producer of the NII program, distracting attention with questions, while her accomplice tried to snatch the phone from the host of the program Alexei Korz.

"Naturally, we fought back. We have the phones with us," said Korzin.

In response to the rebuff from the journalist, the attacker hit him on the head with a bottle and rushed to the watermelon tent for a knife. He injured the cameraman with it, and later disappeared.

"It all happened here, right in the center. <...> We didn't see any police," Korzin said.

The perpetrator faces imprisonment for obstructing the work of the media.

On December 20 last year, the Izvestia film crew was attacked by security guards at the training of coach Yulia Ivlieva, who calls herself a psychologist. It was clarified that the attack on journalists occurred after their questions about Ivlieva's education and income.
