Egor Demin, a 19-year-old Russian defender of the Brooklyn Nets basketball club, set a National Basketball Association (NBA) record among rookies on January 30 in a match against the Utah Jazz.

Demin managed to set a record thanks to a three-point shot. This allowed him to extend his streak to 34 games with at least one successful three-point shot, which became a new record among the league's debutants. Previously, this record was set by Landry Shameth in the 2018/2019 season, and before that it belonged to Rudy Fernandez in the 2008/2009 season.

The match of the 2025/2026 regular season continues, the score of the game at halftime after the second quarter is 52:54 in favor of Brooklyn.

Brooklyn's Russian defender Egor Demin received a technical foul on January 28 for pushing, which led to a brawl in an NBA regular season match. At the end of the fourth quarter of the match with Phoenix, Demin pushed away an opposing player, Dillon Brooks, who was trying to snatch the ball from a fallen partner, Terence Mann. After that, a massive brawl began on the site, in which Demin himself did not take any further part.
