As part of the regular provision of humanitarian aid to Ukraine, Germany has sent Kiev two combined heat and power plants, which are required by the Germans themselves. This was reported on January 30 by the Berliner Zeitung (BZ) newspaper.

"Germany helps Ukraine by providing thermal power plants and emergency generators. But the residents of Berlin counted on this help themselves during the power outage. <...> The essence of the problem lies in Germany's lack of clear plans to ensure its own sustainability," the publication says.

It is specified that Germany will supply Ukraine with a total of 41 installations and 76 modular boilers. This, as the text emphasizes, is being done under conditions in which the Germans themselves may need such assistance.

Back in early January, an arson of a cable bridge at a combined heat and power plant was recorded in one of the districts of Berlin, as a result of which about 45 thousand households and over 2 thousand companies were de-energized, and the consequences of the incident were eliminated for several days.

On January 26, Alice Weidel, co-chairman of the German Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, called her state's "green policy" unworkable and expressed doubt about its effectiveness. She stated that it is impossible to manage the country only with the help of energy produced by wind and solar, and stressed that the actions of the German government harm first of all Germany itself.
