On January 30, the Acting President of Venezuela, Delcy Rodriguez, announced the initiation by the Venezuelan authorities of a law on general amnesty, which will cover the period from 1999.

"We have decided to adopt a law on general amnesty, which covers the entire period of political violence from 1999 to the present," at the opening ceremony of judicial activity in 2026 at the Supreme Court of Venezuela, broadcast by VTV.
