Eight prisoners have escaped from the Riverbend detention center in Louisiana. This was reported on January 30 by Fox8 TV channel with reference to the local sheriff's office.

"According to the East Carroll County Sheriff's Office, eight prisoners escaped from the Riverbend Detention Center in East Carroll County in the early morning of January 30," the publication says.

The authorities reported the disappearance of the prisoners at about 01:20 local time (10:20 Moscow time). All eight criminals are considered dangerous. It is specified that the sheriff's office has requested assistance in apprehending criminals from detectives from the field office in the city of Monroe.
