The United States demanded an explanation from Ukraine regarding the seizure of the temple in the village of Kuzmin

On January 30, Anna Paulina Luna, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, demanded an explanation from Olga Stefanyshina, the Ukrainian ambassador to Washington, regarding the seizure of a temple in the village of Kuzmin in western Ukraine.

"Despite my warnings, the seizure of the Church of the Nativity in Kuzmin continues. <...> I expect Olga Stefanyshina to explain herself to her colleagues in my office this week," she wrote on the social network X.

On the highest level: the United States will discuss the persecution of the UOC with representatives of the Orthodox Church

The purpose of the meeting is to raise awareness about the problem

On January 8, Luna announced plans to bring to justice Ukrainian officials involved in the illegal seizures of churches. It was clarified that she had received a video message from Orthodox Christians from the village of Kuzmin asking for protection in connection with attempts by local authorities to seize their church, built by their parents and grandparents.
