Interest in Russian products is growing in the Middle East. This is evidenced by the Gulfood 2026 international exhibition in Dubai, which took place in Dubai from January 26 to January 30. Over 100 companies from 40 regions represented the Russian Federation.

Russian vegetable oil, chocolate and sweets were particularly popular among the visitors of the exhibition. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev noted another important indicator: the trade in agricultural products between Russia and the United Arab Emirates has already doubled and may add another 10% this year.

"The exhibition is of great interest to our manufacturers, we have participated in it 11 times already. This year, we have the maximum number of companies represented — about 140. The trade turnover between the Russian Federation and the United Arab Emirates is growing from year to year, over the past three years it has doubled and reached $400 million. Of course, this is far from the limit, we will work to ensure that it continues to increase," the Deputy Prime Minister stressed.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, another promising topic is the development of the BRICS grain exchange, as the countries of the association account for almost half of the consumption of grain and oilseeds in the world.

Yesterday, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the partnership between Russia and the UAE is developing dynamically, has a multifaceted and mutually beneficial character. The President stressed that the UAE is an important trading partner of Russia in the Arab world, and the bilateral trade turnover is steadily growing. He also pointed to a good level of investment cooperation: the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and Mubadala Investment Company have implemented over 60 joint projects.
