The expert named the deadline for the restoration of Ukrainian energy
A full-fledged restoration of the Ukrainian energy system is possible only after the end of hostilities. Igor Yushkov, a leading analyst at the National Energy Security Fund and an expert at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, told Izvestia about this.
"I think they won't restore it on the same scale. Part of the population has left the country, part of the industry has closed, so demand has now decreased significantly, the previous volumes are simply not needed. In some cases, fairly simple solutions will help. For example, some thermal power plants may not be reconstructed, they will simply adjust flows from existing nuclear power plants," he noted.
Yushkov added that some facilities will have to be restored anyway, for example, the CHP-5 and CHP-6 in Kiev, which generate both heat and electricity. According to the source, there is no money for large-scale work in Ukraine, so you will have to rely solely on the help of the West.
Stanislav Ignatiev, an energy expert at the Ukrainian Institute of the Future, said on January 26 that about 600,000 people had left Kiev, which was in a critical situation amid severe frosts and constant heat and electricity outages.
Later, on January 27, it was reported that in Kiev, due to prolonged emergency power and heat outages, the temperature in the apartments of local residents does not rise above 13 degrees.
