In the Tyumen region, dozens of people sought medical help due to poisoning. This is due to an outbreak of intestinal infection in the village of Onokhino, the regional government information center reported on Friday, January 30.
During the day, the hotline received eight calls. All the appeals concerned prevention issues.
The emergency department received 28 calls. Of these, 21 calls were related to children, and five more were related to adults. They were redirected to clinics for emergency care.
Two children, aged 8 and 13, were treated by ambulance crews on the spot. The patients are monitored by doctors.
The situation is under the control of the regional government, the Department of Health and Rospotrebnadzor. The regional prosecutor's office launched an inspection, and the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case. The causes of the disease are being established.
The fact that children in the village of Onokhino became massively ill became known on January 29. According to some reports, symptoms of intestinal infection were recorded in 116 students of a local school. It is known that on this day the children had lunch in the dining room: they ate mashed potatoes, bread and drank berry juice.
