- Zakharova called the accusations against the Ukrainian ballet dancers a "cave derusification."
The accusations of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine against the Ukrainian artists of the National Opera for participating in the European tour with the production of "Swan Lake" are an example of "cave de-russification". This was announced on January 30 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
Zakharova stressed that the dissatisfaction of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine was caused by the fact that ballet dancers in their free time "dared to take part in classical ballet."
"This is possible in an anecdote and in today's Ukraine. This is nothing more than another example of the cave de—russification that is being imposed by the Kiev Nazi regime in all spheres of life," she said at a briefing.
The publication "Country. On January 22, ua reported that ballerina Natalia Matsak and Sergei Krivokon are facing dismissal for participating in composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky's "Swan Lake." Later it became known that Krivokon was stripped of his armor from conscription.
On the same day, Italian cartoonist and artist Mauro Senesi, in an interview with Izvestia, said that European propaganda was trying to break the deep cultural alliance that exists with Russia, commenting on attempts to dismiss him for participating in Swan Lake. In his opinion, art, although not directly related to politics, is one of the highest forms of its expression.
