Nine residents of the Kherson region received sentences for the attempted assassination of the heads of the CAA

Nine residents of the Kherson region were sentenced to up to 20 years in prison for preparing attempts on the heads of the military-civil administration (CAA). This decision was made on January 30 by the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don.

In accordance with the verdict of the court, the defendants were found guilty and sentenced to imprisonment for a term of 14 to 20 years in a high-security penal colony. Depending on their actions, the defendants were found guilty under Part 2 of Article 205.4 ("Participation in a terrorist community") and Part 1 of Article 30, part 1 of Article 361 ("Attempted act of international terrorism").

Eight of those convicted are citizens of Ukraine, and one more is a Russian. The court found that all of them were members of a terrorist community under the leadership of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and were preparing attempts on the leadership of the Kherson Regional State Administration Vitaly Bulyuk, Kirill Stremousov, Alexei Kovalev and Igor Semenchev.

"It has been established that the defendants took part in <...> the preparation and attempted commission of acts of international terrorism — IED explosions in order to eliminate the leadership of the CAA of the Kherson region and those accompanying them to ensure the personal safety of Russian military personnel," the court's Telegram channel said.

On the same day, the Second Western District Military Court sentenced a resident of the Ryazan region to 18 years in prison for preparing terrorist attacks ordered by Ukraine. He will spend the first four years in prison, and the rest of his term in a high—security penal colony. The man will also have to pay a fine of 350 thousand rubles.
