On January 30, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov called the statement by United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres about the inapplicability of the principle of self-determination of peoples to Crimea and Donbass, unlike Greenland, deeply erroneous.

"We consider such conclusions to be deeply erroneous from the point of view of international law. We have a well—known and well-reasoned position," he said.
