Azerbaijani Foreign Minister rules out using the country for attacks on Iran
The territory or airspace of Azerbaijan will not be used to launch attacks on Iran. This was stated on January 29 by Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov during a telephone conversation with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araqchi.
"The airspace or territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan will never be used by any state to conduct military operations against neighboring Iran or any other country," Bayramov said on the website of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
Bayramov also expressed Azerbaijan's concern about the protests in Iran and statements by American President Donald Trump about possible attacks on the Islamic Republic. According to the minister, this could increase instability in the region.
