A defendant in the case of the fictitious abduction of a 14-year-old teenager in Krasnoyarsk has been charged with fraud. This was announced on January 30 by the press service of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

"An investigator of the first directorate for the investigation of particularly important cases of the GSU of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Republic of Khakassia has charged an 18-year—old resident of Surgut with committing a crime under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud committed by a group of persons by prior agreement, on an especially large scale)," the Telegram channel of the department said..

The accomplice of the teenager's abduction was detained on January 24. According to the investigation, on January 21, she, acting as part of a group of fraudsters, flew to Krasnoyarsk, and on January 22 she came to the teenager's place of residence, where she opened safes with him and stole money in the amount of 3 million rubles.

Later, the press service of the Investigative Committee stated that a teenager from Krasnoyarsk, who was previously considered abducted, was recognized as a victim in cases of kidnapping and fraud. The girl was arrested by the court for one month and 27 days, that is, until March 22, 2026.
