Calculations of the Buk air defense system disrupted an air attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Zaporozhye region

Calculations of the Buk anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) of the Vostok group of forces of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation disrupted an air attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Zaporizhia region. This was announced on January 30 by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

According to the ministry, during the duty, the Buk crews recorded small-sized high-speed targets that were moving towards the rear positions of the Russian Armed Forces and civilian infrastructure. After capturing the targets, the SAM operators eliminated them.

"We work on absolutely all types of aerial targets, starting from unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) of various types, airplanes, helicopters. <...> The machine works on all types of targets," said the deputy commander of the anti—aircraft missile battery with the call sign Phil.

The Ministry of Defense stressed that the duty of the calculations makes it possible to quickly stop enemy attempts to attack from the air. In addition, it ensures the safety of the rear in the area of operation of the Vostok group of forces.

On January 29, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the calculation of the Uragan MLRS installation of the 29th Guards Combined Arms Army of the Vostok group of forces destroyed camouflaged ammunition depots of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Zaporizhia region. Having received the exact coordinates, the calculation carried out a salvo of high-explosive shells. As a result of the attack, the enemy's stronghold and hidden ammunition depots were eliminated.
