A series of robberies of 420 million yen ($2.7 million) worth of cash carriers took place in Tokyo. This was reported on January 30 by the Japanese portal 47 News.

"[One of the victims] said that he was sprayed with what looked like tear gas and three suitcases loaded into his car were stolen," the publication says.

According to the portal, a few hours later, the police received a call from a man who was transporting 190 million yen ($1.2 million). At Haneda Airport, the attackers sprayed tear gas on him, but did not steal a suitcase and subsequently fled. It is reported that the police are linking the incidents and investigating them together.

It is specified that at about the same time, an abandoned car was seen on a nearby street, which had previously hit a 50-year-old pedestrian and fled the scene of the accident. It is specified that the downed man was not seriously injured. According to the preliminary version of the police, the pedestrian was hit by robbers from the same group.

The Bild newspaper, citing law enforcement agencies, reported on January 2 that a robbery of bank cells took place in the German city of Halle, the third in a row in the last few weeks. According to law enforcement officials, four cells were hacked. The method of the criminal's entry into the vault remains unknown.
