The Russian Defense Ministry reported details about the liberation of the village of Novoyakovlevka.

On January 30, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced details of the liberation of the Novoyakovlevka settlement in the Zaporizhia region by units of the 11th Separate Guards Airborne Assault Orders of Suvorov, Zhukov and Kutuzov brigades from the Dnepr group of forces.

Aerial reconnaissance allowed the paratroopers to identify the enemy's defense system, main strongholds and firepower in Novoyakovlevka and surrounding areas. Then, attack unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), FPV drones, and artillery delivered precision strikes on the enemy's command posts, drone repeaters, and communications facilities, disrupting its control system. After that, using the captured positions, paratroopers from Buryatia in small groups covertly attacked strongholds on the outskirts of Novoyakovlevka, destroyed the Ukrainian militants defending there and took up positions to hold them.

Drones from the air provided support to the assault groups, directing their actions. Gradually increasing their advantage both in the settlement itself and in the adjacent forests, the paratroopers, with artillery fire support and FPV drones, methodically drove out the militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), clearing buildings and moving deeper. Despite repeated attempts by the enemy to regain their lost positions with the help of reserves, artillery and drones, the paratroopers courageously repelled all attacks. During the counter-battery battle, the artillery of our forces suppressed enemy artillery positions and drone control points, after which they began to destroy the enemy infantry.

Unmanned aerial vehicles of the airborne forces (Airborne forces) were used to direct artillery fire (both barrel and rocket) and adjust strikes by other drones. For several weeks, airborne units from Transbaikalia systematically drove the Ukrainian forces out of the settlement, increasing the intensity of their actions.

Under pressure, the enemy began to retreat, suffering significant losses. The Ukrainian militants failed to regain control of the village. After that, additional units were introduced into the settlement for its subsequent retention.

On January 27, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Valery Gerasimov announced that the Armed Forces of Russia had liberated the settlements of Kupyansk-Uzlovoy in the Kharkiv region and Novoyakovlevka in the Zaporizhia region. According to Gerasimov, in January, the Dnepr group of troops liberated four settlements. In total, Russian troops have liberated 17 settlements since the beginning of January.
