The social standard common to all pensioners in the amount of 50 thousand rubles must be established in Russia. This was announced on Friday, January 30, by the leader of the Fair Russia party, the head of the Duma faction, Sergei Mironov.

"It seems necessary to abolish a separate amount of the subsistence minimum for pensioners and establish a living wage for pensioners in the amount of the subsistence minimum per capita, setting it at 50,000 rubles," he said in a letter to Labor Minister Anton Kotyakov, quoted by RIA Novosti.

According to Mironov, if the planned plan is implemented by him and his colleagues, it will be possible to eliminate age discrimination, which is fixed in determining the minimum income level. He clarified that currently the size of the living wage for elderly people is 21% less than for other Russians, so the adoption of the proposed social standard would be fair.

On January 28, Mironov announced that his political association had been demanding the introduction of a 13th pension for pensioners for more than 10 years. According to him, Fair Russia once again submitted such a proposal to the State Duma (State Duma) in early December 2025.
