In the Moscow suburb of Vidnom, three people died and one was injured as a result of gas poisoning. This was announced on Thursday evening, January 29, by a source of Izvestia.

"The bodies of three people have been found. The 77-year—old hostess of the house was also injured," he said.

The incident, in which investigators in the Moscow region have already initiated a criminal case under the article "Causing death by negligence" (Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), was recorded on Sadovaya Street, the source added. He clarified that the tragedy could have been triggered by a malfunction of the gas equipment.

On January 19, a source from Izvestia reported the death of two people due to carbon monoxide poisoning in an apartment building in the Kolyshleisky district of the Penza region. It was noted that the incident affected residents of four apartments. In total, as it was emphasized, nine people were injured, including one child. Two people have died, and there are no children among the dead.

Later, representatives of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the region opened a criminal case into the death of two people (Part 3 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation — "Causing death by negligence to two persons"). It was clarified that the identities of the victims were established: they turned out to be two women aged 74 and 19, respectively.
