- A new fine of 2.4 million rubles for housing and communal services was levied from the Ukrainian Embassy in Moscow.
For the second time in a month, the Ukrainian Embassy in Moscow has been charged for non-payment of utility bills in a lawsuit filed by the Moscow United Energy Company (MOEK). This was announced on January 29 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the courtroom of the Arbitration Court of the capital.
The debt of the diplomatic mission amounted to over 2.4 million rubles. The defendant's representatives did not participate in the court sessions. The court's decision will enter into force one month after its adoption, unless it is appealed.
If it is not executed voluntarily, the debt will be collected forcibly at the expense of the embassy's property.
On January 15, 3.6 million rubles for heat and hot water supply have already been collected from the Embassy of Ukraine in favor of MOEK. It was specified that the daily penalty for two financial obligations would be accrued until full repayment.
The building of the diplomatic mission on Starokonyushenny Lane has not actually been in operation since 2022, but it continues to be listed as a debtor for utility bills. This case is just one of almost two dozen lawsuits against the Ukrainian embassy that have been considered by the Moscow arbitration court since 2022. 13 of them were submitted by the MOEC.
Earlier, the courts have already recovered hundreds of thousands of rubles in favor of Mosenergosbyt, Mosvodokanal and Ecotechprom for electricity, water supply and garbage collection.
