The Digital Television media holding, NMG Film Distribution Company (part of the National Media Group holding) and the Locomotive Studio presented the official poster and trailer for the animated feature film Leo and Tig. The road to Lake Baikal". The project will be widely released on May 14, 2026.
In the story, little leopard and tiger cub Leo and Tig embark on a long journey to Lake Baikal to bring home the lost seal Lufi. They meet new friends along the way.: The red panda Ju and the monkey king Wukong, as well as face the evil leader of the herd of horses, Tengri Khan, who dreams of capturing a seal himself. After all, the one who returns Lufi will be rewarded with the fulfillment of any wish from the owner of Lake Baikal, the great dragon Lusuda.
"Leo and Tig. The Road to Baikal" is a story that should be watched by the whole family. Because this is the rare case when a cartoon truly unites - when everyone feels good around! This is a story that makes you want to hug your child a little tighter, talk, and get ready for a trip. Children will see a beautiful fairy tale with characters they want to make friends with. They'll cheer for Tig, worry about Leo, and want to hug Lufi. And parents will feel it more deeply, they will see stories about responsibility, about choice, about that warm "I'm next to you" that is so important in the family," says Evgeny Golovin, creative director of the studio "Locomotive".
Lake Baikal became the heart of the story. The creators embodied it as an image of a dream, for which a person is ready to step out of his comfort zone and overcome a path full of adventures, mysteries and trials. The authors tried to convey the thrill of touching an ancient and majestic lake: it was important to draw it not just beautifully, but with the feeling that this is a place of power. "Our Baikal is not a tourist destination. He's alive, deep, and beautiful to the point of goosebumps. And that's exactly how we wanted to show it — a place where wishes come true! And people, in our case, animals, become themselves," says Evgeny Golovin.
The feature film is based on the animated series "Leo and Tig".
