In Russia, the lack of maintenance of gas equipment is subject to fines. This was announced on January 29 by Sergey Kolunov, deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Construction and Housing and Communal Services.

"Owners may face a fine for failure to perform timely maintenance of gas equipment: here individuals face a fine of 5,000 to 10,000 rubles, officials — from 25,000 to 100,000 rubles, legal entities — from 200,000 to 500,000 rubles," he said in an interview with RT.

The same penalties are provided for evading the conclusion of a service contract, not allowing specialists to inspect and not updating equipment if there is such a duty.

If one of these violations leads to an accident or creates an immediate threat to human life and health, fines increase significantly: for individuals — up to 150 thousand rubles, for officials — up to 500 thousand rubles, and for legal entities — up to 2 million rubles.

Vladimir Koshelev, first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Construction and Housing and Communal Services, said on January 24 that tenants can receive a recalculation for heating if the temperature in the apartment is below the established norm and the violation lasts longer than the permissible period. He added that for recalculation it is necessary to collect evidence of violations, the main document is the act of checking the quality of public services with temperature measurement.
