In the Kemerovo region, all boarding schools will be checked after the tragedy in Prokopyevsk, where nine patients died during January. This was announced by the governor of the region Ilya Seredyuk.

On the same day, Roszdravnadzor in the Kemerovo region announced a quality control of medical care for the guests of the Prokopievsky neuropsychiatric boarding school. A commission of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Kuzbass has been working there since January 24.

"I instructed to check all boarding schools in Kuzbass after the tragic situation in Prokopyevsk," Seredyuk said in an interview with TASS.

The Ministry of Labor of the region informed the agency that the Prokopiev boarding school continues its work despite the tragedy. 450 people remain its guests.

On the same day, the Ministry of Labor of the Kemerovo region reported that in January of this year, nine patients of the Prokopiev boarding school for people with mental disorders died, in which influenza A had previously broken out. Most of the dead were elderly people with chronic diseases. Decompensation (malfunction) of heart failure, circulatory system diseases, thromboembolism and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease are listed among the causes of death.

Later it became known that the investigative authorities were investigating the causes and circumstances of the death of six more people from among the boarding school residents in Prokopyevsk.
