On January 29, Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and special presidential envoy for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, accused the head of the European Diplomacy, Kaya Callas, and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, claiming that their actions lead to the destruction of the EU industry.

"Hardworking Ursula and Kaya are destroying the EU industry together," Dmitriev wrote in a message on the social network X (ex. Twitter), attaching information with European statistics to the publication.

According to a report by the European Council of the Chemical Industry, Europe has lost 9% of its chemical capacity since 2022. Germany was particularly affected (losses amounted to 25%), the Netherlands (20%), Great Britain (12%), France (10%) and Italy (7%). As a result, about 20,000 people lost their jobs.
