In Russia, it was proposed not to fine drivers for violating markings in snowfalls.
The National Automobile Union (NAS) has sent an appeal to Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev asking him not to issue fines to drivers for violating marking rules during snowfalls, NAS Vice President Anton Shaparin said on January 29.
Shaparin explained that during snowfalls, markings or road signs are often impossible to see due to weather conditions. He noted that in some regions of the Russian Federation, drivers are not punished for such violations, but fines are issued in Moscow.
"We ask the Ministry of Internal Affairs not to fine for violating all possible marking rules and everything related to going to the parking lot, because often everything is hidden and it is unclear where you can go to it and where not. This greatly complicates the lives of drivers," TASS quoted him as saying.
The fine for violating road markings in the Russian Federation ranges from 500 rubles to 5,000 rubles.
Also on January 19, the National Automobile Union appealed to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation with a proposal to strengthen responsibility for the illegal modification of car headlights and exhaust systems in Russia. For such violations, it is proposed to significantly increase the punishment, up to the deprivation of a driver's license for up to six months or a fine of 30,000 rubles.
