The Combat Capability Recovery Center helps servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation who have experienced stressful situations while performing combat missions to recover. On January 29, the specialists involved in this process told Izvestia about how their work was going.
The idea and implementation of the project belongs to Commander Anton Polyakov, who has completed 56 assault operations. Being a native of Altai, he personally supervised the process of implementing his plans, contributing to almost every room in which rehabilitation is currently taking place. In addition, residents of Siberia helped in equipping and building the center.
The employees, as explained by the head of the center for the restoration of combat capability, Major Viktor Karpenko, face several tasks at once: first of all, they must provide assistance to the incoming fighters, after that, they must conduct command—building activities with them for their subsequent return to service, and then, when the time comes to send soldiers home, they must transfer them to representatives of the regions whose network includes The present tense is beginning to take shape gradually.
"This center was being prepared so that the personnel, all the personnel — soldiers, sergeants — would go through the restoration of combat capability here. <...> A lot of attention is being paid to the officers, who should also come here," Karpenko said in an interview with Izvestia correspondent Dmitry Zimenkin.
He said that the center uses advanced techniques that allow each person who passes them to work harmoniously in a team. The completion of tasks is recorded on cameras and subsequently displayed on the monitor, which allows employees, as the major emphasized, to notice the mistakes of the fighters and work through them.
Ekaterina Nechaeva, Deputy chief physician of the Altai Regional Clinical Psychiatric Hospital, psychiatrist and psychotherapist, said that she and her colleagues, establishing contacts with the soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces through dialogue, help them open up and overcome internal clamps. Izvestia visited the created classrooms and recreational areas — in spacious, homely-style classrooms and recreation rooms there are cabinets with books and upholstered furniture, and there you can also see pots with flowers. A small living area was also equipped on the territory of the center for the restoration of combat capability of soldiers of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, where birds and rabbits live, which are cared for by military personnel.
"The center, of course, impresses not only with its concept, but also with its scale — it is located underground at a depth of. Its total area is 3.5 thousand square meters. m. and as we can see, this is not all, it continues to expand," summed up Izvestia correspondent Zimenkin.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said on January 21 that all people defending the Fatherland should be sure that the social issues around themselves and their family members will be resolved. During an ongoing meeting with members of the Russian government, he added that the state is obliged to help soldiers and veterans of the Russian Armed Forces, as well as provide them with moral support.
Anna Tsivileva, Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, announced on December 25 of the same year that employees of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation, of which she is chairman, would help military personnel with disabilities. She also stated that the foundation is developing a project that will allow participants in a special military operation to go on vacation with their loved ones to friendly foreign countries.
