About 18% of dairy products in Russia in 2025 turned out to be counterfeit

The share of counterfeit dairy products on the shelves of Russian stores in 2025 was almost 18%. This was reported on January 28 by the Parliamentary Newspaper with reference to Rosselkhoznadzor data.

According to the agency, dairy products are often adulterated due to their popularity and technological simplicity. According to Rospotrebnadzor, since May 2024, 613 million sales attempts have been blocked, of which 278 million are illegally introduced goods.

It is clarified that dairy products are often adulterated by adding vegetable oils and fats, beef fat, starch, soy and components not specified in the product, for example, powdered milk.

On November 27, 2025, Roskachestvo reported that half of the tested olive oil brands had signs of adulteration in Russia. Using the analysis, it was determined that the oils of seven of the 15 samples contain impurities of other oils, which are added to reduce the cost of the product, Roskachestvo noted.
