The artillery crew of the 152-millimeter towed gun 2A36 "Hyacinth-B" of the 120th Guards Artillery brigade of the Center group of forces destroyed an artillery piece of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) along with enemy manpower in the Red Army area of the special military operation (SVO) during a counter-battery battle. This was announced on January 29 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

During aerial reconnaissance, the operator of the Orlan-10 unmanned reconnaissance complex discovered the position of Ukrainian armed formations. The observed enemy cannon was protected by shelters and had hidden communication routes.

After accurately determining the coordinates using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), information about the target was immediately transmitted to the artillery units. The crew fired accurately, making a series of precise hits. Shooting adjustments were carried out in real time using the UAV. The target was hit from a distance of over 20 km. As a result of the artillery strike, the enemy's cannon was completely destroyed, and its crew was eliminated.

"Today we have practiced counter-battery fighting. The target was destroyed. The coordinates are received from the calculation of the UAV. The coordinates come to us. We're proofreading and working on the target," said senior gunner Daniil Mikhailov.

On January 28, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that the calculations of the unmanned systems unit of the Southern Group of Forces destroyed a heavy hexacopter and a UAV control point of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Konstantinovsky area of the special military operation (SVO). It was clarified that over the past month and a half, this unit has successfully hit 31 heavy drones.
