Representatives of Denmark, Greenland and the United States met to discuss Arctic security and the Copenhagen red lines. This was reported on January 28 by the Reuters news agency with reference to a letter from the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Senior officials from Denmark, Greenland, and the United States met to "discuss how we can address America's Arctic security concerns while respecting the Kingdom's red lines," the publication said.

On January 25, Reuters reported that the United States had not abandoned plans for a military takeover of Greenland. US President Donald Trump and representatives of his administration have doubled down on the possibility of using force, and such statements have caused confusion and alarm in Washington and among US allies, the media reported.

Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, in an interview with The New York Times on January 27, reported that Copenhagen does not rule out a possible revision of the 1951 defense agreement with Washington, according to which the United States could build its military bases on the island.
