Sobyanin appreciated the work on supplying heat to the capital's facilities
MOEK specialists provide heating and hot water to more than 74,000 facilities in the capital, including over 34,000 residential buildings. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin provided such data in his MAX channel.
The mayor recalled that Moscow's central heating system is 95 years old: heating came to the first Moscow buildings in the city center in 1931. For this purpose, 6 km long thermal mains were laid from HPP-1 on the Raushskaya Embankment across the Ustinsky and Moskvoretsky bridges.
Currently, the length of pipelines in the Moscow heat supply system is about 19 thousand km, Sobyanin noted. "Mosenergo is the largest producer of thermal energy in the world. Every year, the capital requires about 80 million gigacalories of thermal energy, which is the same amount consumed by some states," he wrote.
Thanks to the creation of capacity reserves, hundreds of new buildings are connected to the Moscow heat supply every year, the mayor emphasized. At the same time, Moscow has one of the longest heating seasons among the world's megacities, which lasts up to 230 days.
Digital technologies are regularly being introduced into the city's heating system, including to quickly find hidden leaks, Sobyanin noted. In particular, the Dispatching system collects more than 100,000 indicators per hour from heating points in real time. "This allows you to automatically regulate the supply of heat and hot water to homes, and instantly respond to any weather changes," the mayor wrote.
"It is important for us that the system works like clockwork, and that Muscovites' homes are cozy and warm," Sobyanin concluded.
All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
