The Island of Dreams has prepared a festive program in honor of the Chinese New Year

The Island of Dreams cultural and entertainment cluster will present a festive program dedicated to the Chinese New Year. The opening of the thematic events will take place on February 21, 2026 and will be a bright celebration with shows, performances, master classes and festive decoration of the city promenade, designed in traditional Chinese style.

Admission to all Chinese New Year celebrations in the Island of Dreams is free. The events will be held on February 21 and 28, from 12:00 to 18:30.

The central event of the program on February 21 will be the "Giant Dragon Show", based on one of the most spectacular and symbolic rituals of Chinese culture. The appearance of a dragon represents blessing, support and new opportunities. This dance is traditionally performed at major events.: It is believed that it cleanses the space of negativity and fills it with strength, luck and prosperity. After the performance, the guests will be able to take memorable photos with the dragon in the space of the city promenade.

The audience will also enjoy a spectacular Chinese-themed dance show. Artists in national costumes will present elegant choreographic performances with fans to traditional Chinese music, creating an atmosphere of celebration and immersion in the culture of the East.

Another highlight of the program will be the interactive musical drumming show of dragon warriors. Artists in traditional costumes will perform dynamic numbers on Chinese drums, and after the performance they will invite the audience to become a part of the show: those who wish will be able to try to play on their own and feel the rhythm of the holiday.

A special place in the program will be occupied by the play "And he left the fox!". This is an original interpretation of the famous fairy tale about Kolobok. In the new version, a story familiar to everyone since childhood is revealed through puppet theater and atmospheric music, and the fox appears as a mysterious character with an oriental flavor. The performance will be shown twice during the day: at 14:10 and at 17:00. And after each performance, there will be a photo session and an interactive session with the audience.

A series of thematic workshops has been prepared for guests of all ages. From 13:00 to 18:00, participants will be able to paint wooden badges with traditional Chinese symbols: a panda, a dragon, a lantern and the hieroglyph of good luck. You can also create your own paper fan with a pen, inspired by the images of the Chinese New Year: dragons, lanterns and symbols of happiness, good luck and prosperity.

The festive mood will complement the design of the city's boardwalk. 1,000 bright Chinese lanterns and traditional fans will be placed on Moscow Square, as well as a themed photo zone with the symbol of the year — a Red Horse.

From 12:00 to 18:00, the guests of the Island of Dreams will be greeted by artists in traditional costumes and life-size dolls in the images of a panda and a dragon, creating the atmosphere of a real street party.

"The thematic events dedicated to the celebration of the Chinese New Year, which we are holding for the second time, are an opportunity to introduce the guests of the Island of Dreams to the cultural traditions of another country through vivid visual images, music, theater and interactive formats. We tried to make the program as intense as possible so that every guest could feel the atmosphere of celebration, renewal and joy. Such events turn the park into a space of lively cultural dialogue and positive emotions," said Ekaterina Loshkareva, Deputy General Director for Marketing Communications at the Island of Dreams Park.

The festive program in honor of the Chinese New Year starts on February 21, 2026 and will become part of the event calendar of the park. All thematic events within its framework are free of charge. Admission is free. Pre-registration is required to participate in the master classes.
