Today, Moscow is one of the three most illuminated megacities on the planet, the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, said in his channel in the MAX messenger. At the same time, thanks to the use of energy-saving technologies and innovative management systems, energy consumption in the city remains at a stable level.

According to the Moscow mayor, modern architectural and artistic lighting technologies are increasingly being used in the capital. So, in 2025, such lighting was installed at more than 100 sites, including the facades of schools reconstructed under the My School program, as well as the Pushkin Theater, the Picturesque Bridge and the newly rebuilt Tsarskaya Embankment in the Kolomenskoye Museum Reserve.

Another achievement of the capital is the unified pedestrian navigation system, which already has 108.1 thousand brownies and 16.2 thousand free-standing signs in the city. All navigation elements comply with the accepted standard: blue signs with white letters are perfectly visible from any angle and organically combine with the architectural space of the streets. There are QR codes on a number of signs that will allow you to learn about the outstanding residents of the capital.

Work in these areas will continue this year. Thus, 26,000 new outdoor lighting devices will start operating in the city, primarily in courtyards, playgrounds and sports grounds. Architectural and artistic lighting will appear on 139 objects. An additional 2,400 brownies and 1,000 free-standing signs will be installed on the streets and squares of the capital.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
