The Izvestia special correspondent became the winner of the Creative Industries competition

Sergey Prudnikov, a journalist of the Izvestia newspaper, became the winner of the All-Russian creative industries competition in support of traditional family and spiritual and moral values "Family is the foundation of Peace". His material is "The Banner of the Temple: how church shrines are saved in the Kursk region" won a silver award.

The award ceremony was held as part of the annual Christmas educational readings in Moscow. Government and public figures took part in the solemn program. In total, more than 700 applications from 66 regions of the Russian Federation were submitted for the competition. According to the organizers, the aim of the competition is "to identify, encourage and unite professionals and young professionals in the creative industry for positive changes in the information and cultural field of our country."

Prudnikov became a prize-winner in the category "Best Print Media Journalist".

In his article, the reporter told about the events of March 2025, when, together with priest Alexander Zinchenko and a fire support group, he drove into the newly liberated Sudzha. The task was to get to the Church of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos, examine it, and, if possible, take out the preserved church valuables. The trip turned out to be predictably dangerous — the city was shaking from continuous explosions, kamikaze drones circled in the sky.

In the altar, the priest managed to find an antimins plaque with a piece of relics sewn into it, which gives the right to celebrate the liturgy. "Antimins is like the banner of a temple," the priest commented. The accompanying soldiers lit candles in the church. And in the bell tower, for the first time in seven months, the bells began to sing. As Prudnikov shared, it is very important that such a significant topic was heard and appreciated.
